Prismacolor Art Pencils
Premier is a line of Prismacolor art pencils that consists of 132 colors. They are sold in 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 120, and 132 assorted count packages. They can also come in packs of 12 of the same color. In 2005 they added neutral colors and beige tones that can be purchased as a set or individually. The neutral tones are included in the 132 package. The Prismacolor art pencils are easily blended, brilliant and have fade resistant colors. Many techniques can be used similar to other colored pencils such as using rubbing alcohol, turpentine, and shoe polish.
Verithin prismacolor art pencils consist of 36 colors and are cheaper. They can be made into a sharper tip to get small details where the Premier line of pencils fails. Scholar is more of a student grade of colored pencils with similar qualities to Verthin at a cheaper price than premier pencils. Lightfast pencils are one of the more recent lines of prismacolor art pencils. Consisting of 48 pencils and sold in a 48 count assorted package. You can even purchase these separately as the premier pencils. They offer a sharp tip with brilliance and consistency. They are specially formulated to keep the brilliance and strength after many hours of exposure to the sun.
Col-Erase is another type of prismacolor art pencils that can be erased. They are sold separately or in a package of 24 counts assorted set. The Col-Erase pencils are ideally for animating and illustrating. This style of prismacolor art pencils offer color with a chance to erase your mistakes. These pencils have strong tips as well, and include erasers at the end of each pencil.
